In Spain, 12.44% of female students select a STEM career compared to 37.34% of male students.  This gap is also reflected in the professional context;  The percentage of women in engineering jobs is 12% in Spain, compared to a world average of 15%.  In addition, they face various problems such as the lack of female principal investigators in research projects or the glass ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">From the different computer societies that the SCIE brings together, various activities are carried out to increase the presence of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.  For example, the \u201cEngendering Technologies\u201d workshop organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/aipo.es\/\" target=\"_self\">AIPO<\/a> since 2014, the French Allen award from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aepia.org\/aepia\/\" target=\"_self\">AEPIA<\/a> for doctoral theses written by women, the WSARTECO\u201d meetings of <a href=\"https:\/\/sarteco.org\/\" target=\"_self\">SARTECO<\/a> or the DiverTLes initiative (Diversity in Language Technologies in Spain) of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sepln.org\/\" target=\"_self\">SEPLN<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scie.es\/activityes\/mujer-en-informatica\/\" target=\"_self\">Women in Informatics Commission<\/a> is in charge of analyzing the current situation of women in computer engineering and the different actions that are developed to reduce the gender gap, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.women-inf.ited.es\/en\/\" target=\"_self\">WOMEN@INF<\/a> project. <br>More information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scie.es\/la-scie-se-une-a-las-activityes-del-11f-el-proyecto-womeninf-por-su-comision- of-women-in-computing\/\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El d\u00eda 11 de febrero se celebr\u00f3 el D\u00eda Internacional de la Mujer y la Ni\u00f1a en la Ciencia.
